With a background in clinical social work and education, I have had the privilege to work with a diverse population of youths, adults, and families in a variety of contexts. I am experienced in helping my clients navigate traumatic life events, difficult transitions, challenging social/interpersonal dynamics, and mental health symptoms. My primary client demographic is kids and adolescents (and their family systems) dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, emotional regulation and behavioral difficulties, family and peer conflict, identity development, and neurodivergent profiles like ADHD, giftedness, HSP, and 2E.

As a therapist, I believe that understanding, compassion, and trust are essential elements for growth. I strive for these qualities in my connections with my clients, and I work to nurture these qualities in my clients' relationships with themselves and others. My approach is thoughtful, creative, empathetic, culturally-affirming, trauma-informed, and resiliency-oriented. I believe that all behavior has purpose. I listen and look for strengths. I lead with presence, warmth and unconditional positive regard.

My goal is for my clients to feel safe enough to explore both the wonderful and messy parts of life with me, learn to leverage their unique gifts, and feel empowered with the knowledge, tools, and self-confidence they need to thrive.  I employ person-centered and evidence-based therapeutic interventions, utilizing elements of CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, and attachment theory. I also love to integrate many different mediums of expression into sessions, be it conversation, art, play, writing, music, movement, etc.

I'm particularly passionate about working with children and adolescents because I believe in the power of early intervention, and because children bring a special and tender perspective to life that is rich with possibility.

In my approach with younger clients, I honor that play is their primary medium of expressing themselves and exploring the world around them. A typical session with one of my kiddos might include intentional use of acting/roleplay, board games, imaginary play with dolls and fantastical creatures, time in nature, mindfulness activities, and watercolor, coupled with thoughtful conversation and modeling of skills to target our goals.

I also love to include family members into treatment as it's appropriate because I find a collaborative approach to be the most impactful. A kiddo's sense of self can really blossom when they see that they have a team of people who love them lifting them up together.
